OPEC+ just approved its fifth straight monthly increase in oil production. If that headline made you expect cheaper gas soon, the pump is not agreeing with you yet.

Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett Betting Big on This
Hey, Jeff Brown here with an urgent message.
If you have even $1 invested in U.S. markets, you need to watch the first five minutes of this bombshell exposé I recorded immediately.
Because hidden inside 750 pages of federal documents is a clue that appears to have set off a billionaire stampede.
I call them the “Redacted Trump Files” and I can almost guarantee you won’t hear about them on CNBC, Fox, or even from independent journalists like Tucker Carlson…
But thanks to Trump’s shocking move…
Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, and an up-and-coming tech titan who Charlie Munger referred to as, “the new emperor of the world”…
Are all prepared to make a fortune from an inevitable 330x boom these “Redacted Trump Files” could cause.
Despite fierce opposition from Elizabeth Warren and her allies...
Jensen Huang says they may hold the key to solving “AI’s biggest bottleneck.”
And OpenAI founder Sam Altman says they are critical to America’s AI race with China.
And they’re not alone.
Goldman Sachs recently admitted “hedge funds are piling” into the very corner of the market these “redacted files” expose.
Even more telling, I found evidence that President Trump recently backed it with a $300 million investment of his own.
We have so much to look forward to.

P.S. The president just quietly “redacted” over 750 federal files, and I believe his next move — on July 28 — could make a select few Americans incredibly wealthy. Click here for the shocking truth.
Five Months of "More Oil," and Counting
Seven OPEC+ members, including Saudi Arabia and Russia, agreed to raise combined output by 188,000 barrels a day starting in August. It's the fifth consecutive monthly increase the group has announced. On paper, that should mean more crude working its way toward gas stations and refineries. In practice, industry analysts have described these increases as largely a formality, since the actual barrels reaching the market have lagged the announcements for months.
The Real Supply Story Is Still Recovering From a Bigger Shock
The reason the increases matter less than they sound is that OPEC+ production is still climbing back from a much steeper drop. Iran's closure of the Strait of Hormuz forced the group to slash output as storage capacity maxed out, pulling total OPEC+ production down to about 33.1 million barrels a day in May from roughly 42.8 million in February. A fifth increase of under 200,000 barrels a day is a small step back toward a hole that size, not a flood of new supply.
Gas Prices Are Holding Near Where They Started
Brent crude has settled back to around $72 a barrel, essentially matching where it traded before the conflict escalated in the first place. At the pump, AAA put the national average for regular gasoline at $3.80 a gallon as of July 5. That price has not meaningfully budged despite months of OPEC+ headlines promising more barrels. The story at the pump has less to do with any single announcement and more to do with how much real supply actually shows up.
Final Take
Every OPEC+ meeting that ends in an announced production hike tends to generate a headline suggesting relief is on the way for drivers. This time, the group has done that five months running, and gas prices are still sitting close to where they were before any of it started. If your household budget is waiting for gas prices to meaningfully drop off the back of these announcements, the actual barrels arriving at U.S. refineries matter far more than the press release, and so far those barrels have been catching up, not flooding in.
